칼리스토의 정예병 부대는 출정하기 전 앤드포트에 잠시 머물렀다. 머무르는 동안 부대장과 앤드포트의 수장 부엉이 브루어 씨는 연합전선의 참모로써 아주 오랜 대화를 이어 가고 있었다. 앤더슨은 브루어 씨가 나오기를 회의장 밖에서 초조한 표정으로 기다리고 있었다. 자신이 꾼 꿈 이야기가 회의의 안건이 되기나 할 지, 긴가민가 했지만 회의에 들어가기 전, 브루어씨가 앤더슨의 꿈 이야기를 듣고선 기다리라는 당부가 있었기 때문에 앤더슨은 자기가 정예병 대열에 합류할지, 아니면 그러지 못할지에 대한 처분을 초조히 기다리고 있었다. 

 천둥번개까지 머금은 검은색 구름이 요리조리 모양을 바꾸며 수 없이 흘러가는 동안에도 회의는 계속되었다. 더 이상 기다릴 수 없이 지친 앤더슨이 까치발을 들어 회의장을 살짝 훔쳐보려는 순간, 브루어씨를 비롯한 칼리스토의 부대장이 모습을 드러내었다. 부대장의 모습에 소대장은 대열을 정비하는 구호를 외쳤고 칼리스토 정예병 부대는 금세 숲 어귀에 대열을 맞추어 정렬하였다. 부대는 더이상 시간을 지체할 수 없었다. 어둠이 밀물 처럼 순식간에 밀려오는 것을 가만히 앉아서 보고 있을 수 만은 없었기 때문이었다. 대열을 정비한 정예병 부대는 달구어진 쇳조각 처럼 모든 것을 녹일 기세로 벌겋게 달아 올라가고 있었다.

The elite troops of Callisto halted briefly at Andport before their departure. During their stay, the unit commander and the owl Brewer, the chief of Andport, engaged in prolonged discussions as strategists for the allied front. Anderson waited anxiously outside the conference hall for Brewer to emerge. He was uncertain if his dream would even become a topic of discussion, but since Brewer had told him to wait after hearing about his dream before entering the meeting, Anderson was eagerly awaiting his fate—whether he would join the elite ranks or not.

As thunderous black clouds, charged with lightning, morphed and drifted endlessly across the sky, the meeting continued. Unable to wait any longer, a weary Anderson stood on tiptoe to steal a glance inside the hall. At that time, Brewer and the Callisto unit commander finally emerged. At the sight of the commander, the platoon leader called for the ranks to be formed, and the elite troops of Callisto quickly assembled at the edge of the forest. They could afford no further delay. They couldn't just sit and watch as darkness surged like a swift tide. The elite unit, glowing red-hot like a searing piece of iron ready to melt everything in its path, was ready to move out.
